FOR THOSE USING SCREENREADERS ONLY:

Ignore the previous message about browser versions as that does not apply to you. The important content here is the text and you should be able to access that without difficulty. The links are also attached to items of text, so should be easy to follow.

Your screenreader should find all the text content of this page first. It will find the site navigation menus next. You can use this link to go straight to them from here: Site Navigation Menus. Unless an image appears within the text it can safely be ignored. Your screenreader should also find comments that help you use this page. The link that returns users to the top of the page will not function correctly with screenreaders.

This page is designed to look like a card index and appears to be made of parchment and oriental paper. It has tags across the top and cut out shapes down the left hand side. The links appear to be written on these. The Innovations Team logo is at the top left and shows through a cut out section of the page.

"This project is funded by the Department for Education and Skills."

Q:   I often have minor queries regarding the administration of my project, but don't want to keep bothering my National Co-ordinator. Is there anyone else I can contact?

A:   The Projects Officer is always happy to answer queries from project staff and can provide advice and information on a range of issues. (ss-innovationsteam@open.ac.uk, 01908 653474).

Q:   I don't seem to be receiving email messages from the Innovations Team.

A:   All project staff are welcome to join the mail list for their phase of projects (in fact, it is essential for key project staff), as this is the main route of communication between projects and the Innovations Team. Please email ss-innovationsteam@open.ac.uk or call 01908 653474 to add your name to the list.

If you are not sure how to send a message to the mail list, contact the Projects Officer (ss-innovationsteam@open.ac.uk or 01908 653474) who will be able to help you.

Q:   How long do I need to keep project paper work?

A:   Paper/financial work does not need to be kept once a project has finished as long as a satisfactory final report and financial statement have been received.

Q:   I think the project will need to extend its finish date. Who should I contact?

A:   You need to contact your National Co-ordinator in the first instance to discuss your plans. Any extension will have to be approved by the HEFCE, through your National Co-ordinator. All Innovations projects must finish by 30th October 2002.

Q:   I am experiencing problems within the project which could affect its success or timing, what should I do?

A:   Few projects sail smoothly from start to finish without any problems and your National Co-ordinator is there to help when problems do arise. You will be offered constructive help and advice from your Co-ordinator who has considerable experience in managing and co-ordinating projects. Projects often experience similar problems and your National Co-ordinator may be able to put you in touch with other projects who can help you. Remember that problems are easier to solve when they are small, rather than being left to grow bigger!

Q:   The project is nearing completion. Are there any matters that I need to be mindful of?

A:   You would find it very useful to read two briefings that the National Co-ordination Team have produced. These are available from the Briefings/Bulletins sub-section of this site's Projects pages. They are:  Exit And Continuation Strategies and Completing Your Project

Please note that these are PDF files that require Adobe Acrobat Reader to access them.

Q:   Do I have to produce a report once the project finishes?

A:   Projects are required to complete a final report by their finish date and a financial statement within three months of finishing. Final Reports Guidelines are available. Click here for link.

Q:   Where can I find information/advice about project management/dissemination/evaluation etc.?

A:   Check the Resources tab on this website to find materials from the National Co-ordination Team, National Disability Team and Action on Access, or contact your National Co-ordinator who will be able to help you.
